Crizzy

Written by

Crizzy’s Bio: I’m an 18-year-old rapper from Crofton, Maryland. I’ve been writing my own lyrics and music since the 4th grade. I enjoy making music. U.O.E.N.O., my most popular song on my Sound Cloud account, has over 22,000 views and growing to this very moment. My greatest hip hop influences include Jay-Z, The Notorious BIG, J. Cole, and Chocolate City go-go pioneer Chuck Brown.

I consider myself a lyricist because I understand the power of words and I’m good with my words. I always try to be authentic and real, different. I don’t want to be like anyone else. I feel like most people today sound the same because they are not in touch with their true self. But for me, this is not real hip hop. Hip hop, in its purest form, is real, it’s true, and it’s the pulse of the people.  It tells our story.

The story that sometimes world is not ready to hear and other times, the rest of the world is uncomfortable to digest the truth- the truth about how we live, how we see ourselves, how we exist- our truth. My wordplay is an example of this.  I always try to be authentic and truthful.  My words on paper give me power to express myself and give voice to those who can’t, or won’t, or chooses not to, or doesn’t know how to use their voice.

They say that sticks and stones will break your bones but words will never harm you.  Well, that’s a lie because words can crush a niggas dreams, make your mother cry, fuck-up your money, or make you a millionaire.

Hip hop is life.  Life is existence, continual, gives us the ability to make, to create, to change.
