Why Are We Charging?
The answer is quite simple, the operation of 66raw.com is not free nor cheap. For the past 2 years we provided all features and services for free and without any type of commercial funding to pay for the 66 RAW infrastructure. In order to expand and enhance our capabilites we will charge for certain service but will keep our main components free as is.
66 Raw generates a huge amount of traffic and we receive a large listenership for the radio station, people are listening through our website, via apps and direct feed to stream to vehicles and any devices that can receive an internet stream. All of this requires a lot of bandwidth which has to be supported by our servers. We have a lot of users requesting HD Streams at 128 kbps and we are working on providing a dual feed one for mobile and one for Wifi connection but in order to keep upgrading and improving our services we will need to be able to pay for which now we will introduce premium services which will be in addition to the already free ones for example the HD Stream maybe a part of the Premium Membership and the 64 kbps will remain free.
We have quite a few members that have been supporting us from Day 1 by spreading the word, participating on our website, submitting content and interacting with members and as our gratitude we will extent a lifetime membership for those at no cost.
